Implementation of Stellar Parameters Estimation in ASERA

Authors:
Yuan Hailong, Zhang Yanxia

ASERA is short for A Spectrum Eye Recognition Assistant for Quasar Spectra, which helps users to eyeball check quasar spectra. With the extension of many spectral templates, ASERA can also be used in the eyeball inspection of galaxies and various types of stars except quasars. We recently add a new developed function in ASERA to estimate the stellar parameters (e.g. velocity, Teff, logg and [Fe/H]) from spectral data from the LAMOST survey. A remote server is developed to transfer the request from ASERA to ULYSS, which is a widely used open-source software package written in the GDL/IDL language to analyze astronomical data. A bunch of ULYSS fitting parameters are handled so users can adjust the fitting results accordingly by ASERA. Users can enjoy the convenience of ASERA without having IDL and ULYSS installed in their own computer systems. The LAMOST spectral FITS format is supported by default while others depend on the ULYSS package.
